History Center
Located in the beautiful historic Spaulding school building at 60 Washington Street in Barre, the Vermont History Center houses the Howard & Alba Leahy Library, storage for our museum collections, our administrative offices, and a small exhibition gallery. We also host the Vermont Department of Libraries and the Vermont Archaeology Heritage Center.
Leahy Library
The Leahy Library of the Vermont Historical Society, is a center for individualized research and discovery. The Library is open to the public for $9.00/day. Learn more.
Museum Research Collections
The Vermont History Center also houses our artifact collections, available for research by appointment. Learn more.
Community Room
The Community Room, located in the Vermont History Center, is available for rental by nonprofit, for-profit, and private organizations. Please review our Facility Usage Policy and contact Daphne Kinney-Landis at (802) 479-8503, daphne.kinney-landis@vermonthistory.org to schedule.
Directions & Parking
Accessible & limited mobility parking is available in a small lot at our Washington St. entrance. Additional parking is available on street. Parking is metered along Washington St., Free along Academy St. and around Currier Park. The main entrance is the accessible entrance with an elevator.
